Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women's cross country team turned in a tenth-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Division II Central Region meet held in Sioux Falls Saturday.
There were 32 teams that competed in the event held at the Yankton Trails.
Junior
Erin Baker, who finished the 6K-course with a time of 21:49.24, was the top Maverick individual with here 32nd-place finish. Sophomore
Megan Serratore (22:16.55) was 51st and was followed by junior
Megan Allen (22:23.36) was 28th. Other Minnesota State individuals, along with their times and places, included sophomore
Josie Braaten (22:45.48, 77th), sophomore
Lily Paul (22.55.39, 85th), junior
Haley Kruger (23:03.27, 94th) and freshman
Carisa Weyenberg (23.12.98, 99th).
U-Mary totaled 60 points in claiming the team title, while the Mavericks combined for 304 points.

The top four teams from today (U-Mary, Minnesota Duluth, Southwest Baptist, Ft Hays State) qualified for the NCAA DII Championships scheduled for Nov. 19 in St. Leo, Fla.
