MANKATO, Minn. ---  The Minnesota State women's basketball team is set to open NSIC play when it travels to Wayne State on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will then travel to Augustana on Saturday with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.

Mavericks at a Glance: The Mavericks picked up their third straight win after downing Black Hills State, 71-67, in Spearfish, S.D. Senior Sammie Delzotto posted a game-high 19 points. Minnesota State has not started 3-0 since the 2014-15 season. 

Impact Mavericks: Junior Claire Ziegler leads the Mavericks with 12.3 points per game and a team-high 9.7 rebounds per game which ranks her fourth in the NSIC. Senior Sammie Delzotto is netting a team-best 15.0 points per game. Senior Britney Scherber rounds out the top performers with a team-leading 10 assists per game and adds 12.3 points per contest. 

Stat Pack: As a team this season, Minnesota State is averaging 75.0 points per game in comparison to it's opponents 61.7. Additionally, the Mavericks are totaling 44.0 rebounds and 16.0 assists per game. 

Double Digits: Three Mavericks reached double digits in scoring at Black Hills State: senior Sammie Delzotto (19), senior Britney Scherber (13), and sophomore Monica Muth (10).

The Charity Stripe: Minnesota State is posting a .625 free throw percentage through two games this season (55-88).

Sharing the Rock: The Mavericks have totaled 48 assists this season and are averaging 16.0 assists per contest.

The Last Time:  Minnesota State has not started 4-0 since the 2012-13 season after it defeated Concordia-St. Paul, 85-66, at Taylor Center. The Mavericks finished the 2012-13 season with a 26-6 (18-4 NSIC) record. 

Scouting Wayne State: Wayne State is located in Wayne, Neb., and has an overall record of 5-1 and 0-1 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Wildcats downed Concordia-Portland, 79-62, in St. Paul, Minn. Wayne State is led by head coach Chris Kielsmeier, who is in his ninth season. 

The last time these two schools met last season, the Mavericks dropped a 63-72 decision to the Wildcats at Taylor Center. Wayne State leads the all-time series, 15-6.

As team this season, the Wildcats are posting 70.8 points per game in comparison to their opponents 58.2. Wayne State also adds 42.5 rebounds per game and 17.2 assists per contest. 

Junior Paige Ballinger leads the Wildcats with a team-best 13.5 points. Senior Anna Martensen is collecting a team-high 6.8 rebounds while netting 12.8 points. Senior Haley Moore rounds out the top performers with 5.0 assists per game which ranks her second in the NSIC. 

Scouting Augustana: Augustana is located in Sioux,Falls, S.D., and has an overall record of 6-2 and a 1-0 NSIC record. In their most recent game, the Vikings topped College of Saint Mary, 83-57, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Augustana is led by Dave Krauth, who is in his 28th season. 

The last time these two schools met last season, Minnesota State fell to Augustana, 87-73, at Taylor Center. The Vikings lead the all-time series, 43-28. Since 2014, Minnesota State is 3-2 against Augustana. 

As a team this season, the Vikings are netting 79.1 points per game in comparison to their opponents 61.1. Augustana is also totaling 42.3 rebounds contest and 20.0 assists per game. 

Junior Logan O'Farrell leads the Vikings in both points per game (14.8) and rebounds per game (7.5). Sophomore Lynsey Prosser is dishing out a team-best 4.9 assists per game which slots her third in the NSIC.
