MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team won a total of 13 events and set three pool records in its 186-114 dual victory over MSU Moorhead Friday evening.
"We had a great team win today," head coach
Nathan Owens said. MSU Moorhead is a outstanding team and matches up with us very closely. The girls battled and competed hard in every event. The team was focused on trying to score points wherever and however they could.
"We set three pool records which is always good to see and we had a number of season best performances, and one of our divers, freshman
Jaycie Klein, posted a national qualifying score on the 1-meter. It was also our senior night, so it was fun to send them off on a good note."
Klein won the 1-meter diving event after posting a national qualifying score of 392.20. Freshman
Krista Kovar won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 214.30, with Klein following right behind in second place with a score of 209.60 as well.
Along with winning the two diving events, the Mavericks also won both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay events. The quartet of junior

Cheyenne Rova set a new pool record in the 200-yard medley relay event with a time of 1:47.95. The group of freshman
Maggie Knier, Bean, Hake and Rova won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.62 as well.
The Mavericks also won nine individual events and set pool records in the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard backstroke events. Junior
Taylor Bass won the 200-yard butterfly event with a time of 2:08.52 and the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 58.88. Junior
Chelsea Calhoon won three individual events including the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.38), the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.09) and the 200-yard IM (2:10.73) events.

Sam Johnston won a pair of individual events as well. Rova turned in the top times in the 50-yard freestyle (23.91) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.51) events, while Johnston won the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle events with times of 5:26.96 and 11:11.33, respectively.
The Mavericks return to action on Friday, Dec. 2, as they take part in the three-day Rochester Invite in Rochester, Minn.
