WAYNE, Neb. --- Third-rated Minnesota State has now one 20 straight games and the Mavericks skipper Matt Magers picked up win number 300 as they swept Wayne State on Wednesday.
The Mavericks defeated the Wildcats in game one 10-2 before downing WSC in game two by a final score of 10-0.
The Mavericks and Wildcats were scoreless after one, but MSU changed that in the second inning. After loading the bases, three RBI singles off the bats of redshirt freshman 
Josh Wenzel, senior 
Kevin Kramer and junior 
Kyle Toth plated the first three runs. Senior 
Connor McCallum then came up and doubled to left center to plate Wenzel and Kramer.
The Wildcats tallied a run off a sacrifice fly in the third, but McCallum added to the Mavericks lead with another two run double in the fifth inning. Senior 
Max Waletich then singled to right field to put MSU up 8-1. McCallum picked up his fifth RBI of the day with a sacrifice fly and junior 
Taylor Branstad hit a double down the right field line to plate Waletich to push the score to 10-1 in the top of the seventh. WSC plated one more run in the bottom of the seventh but MSU would prevail in game one.
Freshman 
Brody Rodning twirled five innings and allowed just four hits and one earned run while striking out seven Wildcats to improve to 8-0 on the year. Sophomore 
Tyler Frohwirth pitched the final two innings and allowed four hits and one earned run strikeing out one and walking one.
McCallum finished game one 2-4 with five RBI and one runs scored and Kramer went 3-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Neither team scored in the first four innings of game number two, but MSU broke through in the fifth inning with five runs. McCallum hit an RBI double while Branstad and redshirt freshman 
Dylan Dresel each hit RBI singles and Branstad later scored on an error for the first four runs of the inning. Wenzel added an RBI single to put the Mavericks up 5-0. Senior 
Nolan Johnson made it 6-0 with an RBI double scoring McCallum in the sixth inning.
The Purple and Gold forced the ten-run rule after rallying for four runs in the seventh. Dresel hit a solo home run, his fourth four-bagger of the season, to increase the lead to 7-0. McCallum hit an RBI single and Waletich scored two with his double to right center.
The best performer of game two was freshman 
Dalton Roach. Roach pitched all seven innings and allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out 12 batters to move to 5-1 in 2015.  
Toth, McCallum and Dresel each finished game two with three hits while Branstad posted two.
Minnesota State, which now stands 37-4 overall and 27-3 in the NSIC, will return home to host Winona State for its final home games of the regular season on Friday and Saturday at the MSU Baseball Complex in a pair of doubleheaders. The Mavericks and Warriors will begin play on Friday at 1:30 p.m. while first pitch on Saturday is slated for 12 p.m.
