Coley Ries throw her first career no hitter as a Maverick.
With the no hitter, it marks as the Mavericks second of the season as freshman
Libby Bemis threw a no hitter back on March 11 against Merrimack. Ries improves her record to 13-12 on the season, as she pitched all five innings and struck out five batters. Missy Elkins took the loss for the Wolves, as the Mavericks mustered 10 hits, including four doubles.
Sophomore
Ashley Thell got the scoring for the Mavericks in the second inning as she singled in freshman
Jess Meidl, before MSU exploded for four more runs in the third. Junior
Karli DesLauriers scored from third on a double steal, as sophomore
Samantha Buhmann nailed a single to right field that pushed across sophomore
Dana Mogren from second. Meidl would later bring in Buhmann all the way from first as she cranked a RBI double to left field. Sophomore
Molly Sagerfinished the inning with a RBI single to left field as Meidl scored once again from second.
The Mavericks tallied one more run in the fourth inning after junior
Laura Milligan brought in sophomore
Mandi Mauch on a fielder's choice. In the next inning, Mauch would finish the game with a two-run double to right center, that pushed across Thell and Sager, as MSU went on to the 8-0 victory over Northern State in five innings.

Tatum Klein surpassed Lauryn Morris for career stolen bases at MSU, as she notched her 64th career stolen base and her 37th of the season, which also marks as a single-season record.
The Mavericks began the day with a 3-0 loss to the Wolves, as NSU managed to score all three of its runs in the second inning. Britney Lash got the scoring going for the Wolves as she posted a RBI double to right field, before Michaela Liebl tallied a two RBI double to right center.
The Mavericks recorded seven hits in the loss and left eight runners on base. MSU was unable to push any runs across in the third inning as it had two runners left on base. Also, MSU was able to make a threat with the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh, but again was unable to score any runs.
Bemis (13-3) took the loss for the Mavericks, as she pitched all seven innings, while giving up just four hits, and struck out eight Wolves batters. The winning pitcher for NSU was Kami Smesmo (14-7), as she pitched all seven innings and posted six strikeouts.
Mogren and Thell each collected two hits in the shutout loss, including a double from Thell.
The Mavericks will return right back to action on Saturday, as they will play host to MSU Moorhead at the MSU Softball diamond in doubleheader action. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
