MADISON, Wis. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team wrapped up its final exhibition contest of the season Sunday afternoon as it fell to the University of Wisconsin 84-48.

Claire Ziegler and sophomore
Logan Anderson each recorded 10 points in the game, with Ziegler hauling in a team-leading 10 rebounds for a double-double. Senior
McKenzie Hoelmenn added five points and eight rebounds, while freshman
Taylor Paulsrud notched a team-high two blocks.
As a team, MSU hauled in 43 rebounds and passed out nine assists, while forcing 13 Wisconsin turnovers.
Tessa Cichy paced the Badger offense with 22 points, while Avyanna Young notched a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Dakota Whyte added 20 points as well, while Marsha Howard hauled in 11 rebounds.
The score remained close throughout most of the first quarter, with the Badges leading 7-3 after the first five minutes. Wisconsin would eventually build a double-digit lead in the final seconds of the first quarter, before taking a 43-22 lead into halftime.
The Badgers would control the pace in the third quarter, but in the fourth quarter the Mavericks would outscore Wisconsin 22-17 as the Badgers went on to claim the 84-48 win.
The Mavericks open their season on Wednesday, Nov. 18, as they travel to Joplin, Mo., to take on Missouri Southern State. The opening tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
