Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State soccer team flourished Saturday afternoon vs. Wayne State College as they come out ahead 6-0.
With the win, Minnesota State increases its record to 11-1-1 on the season and 9-0-1 in the Northern Sun. After the match, Wayne State's record moves to 1-9-3 on the season and 1-8-1 against NSIC competition.
No. 12 Minnesota State attacked early on in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchup as they generated the game's first goal just two minutes and 20 seconds in. Freshman defenseman

Jaden Vogelgesang (Cottage Grove, Minn.) finished off the play for the first goal of her career., The Mavericks were able to produce again at the 30:08 mark of the half when junior
Karissa Prpich (Rapid City, S.D.) passed the ball across the slot to freshman
Julia Zach (Oconomowoc, Wis.). Zach then blasted the ball past the Wildcat goalkeeper Kylie Comba for her third marker of the season. Within the next 10 minutes of play, MSU was able to extend their lead to 3-0 and 4-0 over WSC. At 36:27, sophomore
Jenny Hoerter (Stevens Point, Wis.), tallied her third goal of the year before Lindstrom found an open
Maddie Raley (Hudson, Wis.), at 40:20 of the first half. As time wound down in the frame, Raley delivered a rocket from the corner, tazing the upper 90 for her second strike of the match, giving the Mavericks a 5-0 leading going into the second half.
At the end of the first half, the Mavericks held a 7-5 shots on goal advantage while senior goal keeper
Lauren Hoeppner (Lakeville, Minn.) recorded five saves through the first 45 minutes.
The second half of the contest had just as much action as the first with less scoring as just one ball found its way to, back of the Wayne State net. With less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation, Hoeppner booted the ball up for Minnesota State. Freshman
Morgan Cottew (Minneapolis, Minn.) picked up the loose ball and dished it up to Raley who was able to tap the ball in for her third goal of the game, recording the first hattrick of her career.
When time expired, Minnesota State had held the lead in shots on goal with 10 compared to WSC's five. The Mavericks also led the game in corners with three opportunities while the Wildcats had two attempts.
Hoeppner moves her record to 11-1-1 on the season after the victory, picking up her seventh shutout in the 2015 campaign. With five saves in the game, the Lakeville, Minn., native has now saved the last 33 of 35 shots she has faced.
MSU's next competition comes tomorrow afternoon as No. 12 Minnesota State travels to Sioux Falls, S.D., to take on #25 Augustana at 1:00 p.m.
