Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State University Athletics and Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic are pleased to announce a multi-year partnership that will include private funding for athletic scholarships and in-kind support services, such as orthopedic evaluation and physician coverage for various sport programs.

The new partnership brought with it a gift pledge of $100,000 that will result in an "OFC Training Room" naming recognition opportunity for the sports medicine area at the newly renovated MSU Hockey Center at Verizon Wireless Center. With the gift, the overall arrangement with Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic, includes a five-year guarantee with an optional five-year renewal and places the potential value to the University at $1.25 million over the entire term.

The multi-faceted deal brings together the largest state University in the MnSCU system and one of the most recognizable medical clinics in Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa. The five-year agreement grants OFC branding and naming recognition opportunities at two of the athletic program's signature facilities at the on-campus Bresnan Arena in Taylor Center and the downtown Verizon Wireless Center. In addition, the partnership will also be recognized with the "Official Orthopaedic Surgeons of Maverick Athletics" tag line.

Kevin Buisman, Director of Athletics, called the day momentous. "We are truly thankful to OFC for their ongoing support of MSU Athletics and to the University. The generosity of OFC will help us to continue to grow, educate, and serve our student-athletes and programs," said Buisman.

"OFC is extremely pleased to partner with Maverick Athletics," said Andy Meyers, CEO of the Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic. "OFC is passionate about serving and giving back to our communities. We know that the partnership with MSU is a natural fit for us and our commitment to higher education."

In a joint statement, long-time team physicians Scott R. Stevens, M.D. and Jesse C. Botker, M.D. of OFC described the partnership this way: "We look forward to continuing the relationship between OFC and Minnesota State. We thoroughly enjoy taking care of student-athletes at MSU and providing the same high quality care that OFC has always been known for since we started our relationship with MSU in 1972."
