Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State women's basketball team beat Minnesota Duluth on Saturday evening by the score of 76-57. 
With the win, the Mavericks record improves to 9-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
To start the game, both MSU and UMD came out slow out of the gates as the Bulldogs shot 23% from the field while the Mavericks were slightly better shooting 32.3% from the field in the first half. Minnesota Duluth built its biggest lead at the 9:32 mark of the first half, leading 15-9 over the Mavericks. UMD would hold onto its tight lead for the majority of the half before MSU was able to tie the game back up at 24-24. Going into halftime the Mavericks and Bulldogs were all tied at 26-26.
Sophomore guard 
Sammie Delzotto led the way for the Mavericks going into the break, as she posted 16 points and six boards. Senior forward 
Lexie Ulfers posted a team-high seven rebounds in the first half, while senior forward 
Jamie Bresnahan tallied five points to her stat sheet.
To start the second half, MSU came out fast as the Mavericks started the half on a 9-0 run within the first four minutes, as MSU built a 35-26 lead over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were able to pull within three points a couple of times but the Mavericks built their lead into double-digits at the 6:45 mark in the second half and never looked back. MSU went on to beat UMD by the score of 76-57.
Overall, it was a tale of two halves for the Mavericks, as they were able to outscore the Bulldogs 50-31 in the second half. The Mavericks improved their second half shooting to 51% and went on to hit five three-pointers. MSU was also able to force nine UMD turnovers in the second half which equated to 10 points off turnovers. 
Individually, Delzotto led all scorers in the game with 16 points, all of which came in the first-half, to go along with her nine boards. Senior guard 
Aubrey Davis finished with 15 points and four assists, while Bresnahan accumulated 11 total points and eight rebounds. Freshman guard 
Madison Lee scored a career-high nine points, as all nine came from behind the arc. Ulfers finished with a game-high 10 rebounds and two blocks, while junior center 
McKenzie Hoelmenn finished the game with eight points and four rebounds.
The Mavericks will hit the road next weekend, as they will travel down to Wayne State on Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
