Box Score Winona, Minn. – The Minnesota State volleyball team lost to Winona State as it was swept by the scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 26-24
With the loss, the Mavericks record falls to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
In set one, the Mavericks were down early as the Warriors built a 10-4 advantage. WSU never looked back in the set, as it took the set 25-18 over MSU. As a team, the Mavericks committed six service errors while sophomore middle blocker

Jenna McNallan led MSU with three kills each in set one.
The Mavericks in the second set were down again early 7-10, before MSU went on a 7-0 run to make the score 14-10. Although the Warriors were able to fight back in the set, as they went on a little 6-2 run themselves to tie it up 16-16. In the end, WSU was able to take set number two 25-23 over MSU. The Purple and Gold struggled again with the errors as they committed five attack errors and four service errors in the set. Hassing and freshman outside hitter
Sydney Powell each recorded three kills in the set.
Minnesota State in set three was in control for the majority of set as they built a 16-9 advantage over Winona State. The Warriors however, were able to fight back and tie the set up 21-21 before they took the set and match, 26-24. Hassing led the Mavericks with eight kills in the set with an impressive .429 attack percentage. Junior outside hitter
Rachel Ott tallied four kills on five attempts as junior setter
Ellie Van De Steeg added 13 assists in the set.
Pacing the Maverick offense was Hassing as she posted 13 kills with a .345 attack percentage. Senior outside hitter
Chandra Honebrink added six kills to her stat sheet as McNallan pitched in with five kills and two service aces. Van De Steeg led MSU with 30 total assists while sophomore libero
Haley Fogarty recorded 12 digs.
The Mavericks will return to the court Friday, as they make their way up to the Peace Garden state to take on Minot State. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
