WACO, Texas --- Minnesota State head football coach
Todd Hoffner has been named the AFCA Region 5 Coach of the Year.
The AFCA recognizes five regional Coach of the Year winners in each of the Association's five divisions: Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III and NAIA. The winners are selected by Active members of the Association who vote for coaches in their respective regions and divisions.
This is the first time Hoffner has been named the AFCA Region 5 Coach of the Year. Under his guidance in 2014, the Mavericks won their second consecutive NSIC Championship and have advanced to the fourth round of the NCAA Tournament with a 13-0 record. Hoffner owns a 47-13 record at Minnesota State.

The 2014 Regional Coach of the Year winners will be recognized at the AFCA Coach of the Year Dinner at the 2015 AFCA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, January 13.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday as it hosts the Concord Mountain Lions at Blakeslee Stadium in the fourth round of the NCAA Tournament. The opening kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
