Box Score Grand Forks, N.D. --- Minnesota State fell behind early and could not make up the deficit as it fell to seventh-rated North Dakota, 8-1, in Western Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal action Saturday afternoon at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
With the win, UND claims the best-of-three series and advances to the WCHA Final Face-off which takes place at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., next Friday and Saturday.

Jocelyne Lamoureux caught the Mavericks in a line change and registered the game’s first goal by beating sophomore goaltender

Michelle Karvinen notched the sole second period goal on the power-play after connecting on a back-door feed at the 16:46 mark to give the home team a 6-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.
M. Lamoureux completed the hat trick with a short-handed goal 8:40 into the third period and made it a four-goal afternoon with an even-strength marker at 13:48 to close out the contest’s scoring.
The Mavericks went zero-for-one on the power-play, while North Dakota ended two-of-two and owned a 45-23 advantage in shots on goal.
With the loss, Minnesota State finishes the 2012-13 season with a 10-21-5 overall record.
