Box Score Fayette, Iowa --- The No. 25 Minnesota State University women’s basketball team (19-4, 15-4 NSIC) traveled to Fayette, Iowa for the first game of the final road series of the regular season as it battled the Upper Iowa University Peacocks (7-19, 4-15 NSIC), the Mavericks downed the Peacocks 76-59.
Minnesota State was able to find its rhythm early, as it connected on 20-of-33 (61%) of its shots from the floor, 4-of-7 (59%) from behind the arc and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe in the opening stanza. MSU dished out 16 first half assists.

r Ali Wilkinson added eight points in the opening half.
The Mavericks kept the pressure on UIU in the second half, outscoring the Peacocks 26-14 in the first 10 minutes of the second half, stretching the lead to 30 points. The Peacocks were able to cut the Maverick lead to 17 before the final whistle sounded, MSU earned the 76-59 victory.
Minnesota State was led in scoring by Thomas who recorded 15 points and connected on 7-of-11 (64%) from the floor. Wilkinson was the only other Maverick to reach double figures, she tallied 12 points.
Collectively the Mavericks connected on 32-of-57 (56%) of their shots from the floor, 7-of-14 (50%) from behind the arc but only converted on 5-of-11 of their shots from the charity stripe. MSU forced Upper Iowa to turn the ball over 26 while the Mavericks recorded 14 steals.
The Mavericks return to the hardwood as they travel to Winona, Minn. to do battle with the Winona State Warriors, tip-off is slated for 4 p.m.
