Mankato, Minn. --- The 12th-rated Minnesota State men's basketball team wraps up its homestand Monday as it takes on the Dakota State Trojans. The opening tip is set for 7 p.m.

Concerning the Mavericks: Last week, the Mavericks improved to 5-1 on the season as they defeated Clarke 117-56 at Taylor Center. MSU shot 58.6% from the field and 86.4% from the line. MSU also tied a school record with 16 three-point shots made.
Through MSU's six games this season, a total of five Mavericks are averaging more than 10 points per game, with senior
Gage Wooten leading the way with 14.7 points per game. Junior
Assem Marei is averaging 13 points and a team-high six rebounds per game, while junior
Zach Monaghan is averaging 14.0 points and five assists per game.
As a team, the Mavericks are averaging 88.7 points a game, to go along with 42.3 rebounds per contest. MSU is also shooting 52.1% from the field and has passed out 106 assists.
Concerning Dakota State: The Dakota State Trojans currently stand at 4-3 on the season, including a 69-66 loss to Northwestern College in their last game. The Trojans will take on Augustana on Saturday.
The Trojans have three players averaging more than 10 points a game, including Yusuf Vinson, who is averaging a team-high 12.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Adam Hofer is averaging 11.1 points per game and has passed out a team-high 19 assists
As a team, Dakota State is averaging 75.7 points and 44.7 rebounds per game. The Trojans are shooting 43.3% from the field and have passed out 104 assists.
Gary Garner is in his fifth season as head coach for the Trojans.
