Box Score Duluth, Minn. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team fell to No. 3 Minnesota Duluth in straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-14, falling to 13-14 overall and 8-11 in NSIC action.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 7-2 lead in the first set, before the Mavericks would pull within three, bringing the score to 10-7 in favor of UMD. The Bulldogs would take the opening set 25-17 behind a .421 attacking percentage.

The Mavericks would open up a 4-1 lead in the second set, before the Bulldogs would tie things up at 15-15 before they would close the set on a 10-3 run, claiming the set 25-18. MSU was led by sophomore Chandra Honebrink (Waconia, Minn.) who tallied four kills in the frame.

MSU dropped the final set by a score of 25-14. The Mavericks recorded 10 kills in the frame, but committed nine attacking errors for a .029 attacking percentage, Honebrink once again paced the Mavericks, posting three kills in the set.

As a unit, MSU posted 31 kills with a .091 attacking percentage and was led by Honebrink who finished the match with 10 kills. Sophomore setter Ellie Van De Steeg (Hutchinson, Minn.) posted 28 assists, while freshman Haley Fogarty (Belle Plaine, Minn.) finished the contest with a team-high 20 digs.

The Mavericks will finish the regular-season on the road as they do battle with St. Cloud State, opening serve is slated for 7:30 p.m.
