Box Score Wayne, Neb. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of No. 15 Wayne State, Saturday, falling to 8-8 overall with a mark of 4-5 in NSIC action.
The Wildcats pounced the Mavericks in the match's opening set, earning a 25-9 win. Junior
Jenna McNallan (Andover, Minn.) led the MSU offensive attack, recording three kills on six attempts with two errors.
The Mavericks dropped the second set of the match, 25-19. Freshman
Krista Hassing (Blue Earth, Minn.) paced the Mavericks with three kills and a block in the set.
Sophomore
Chandra Honebrink (Waconia, Minn.) was able to record eight kills in the third set of the match, but the Mavericks fell to Wayne State, 25-16.
Honebrink led the Mavericks with 10 kills, hitting .333 in the match. Collectively, MSU recorded 29 kills on 98 attempts with 23 attacking-errors.
Minnesota State will return to the friendly confines of Taylor Center as it hosts the University of Sioux Falls Friday evening, opening serve is slated for 7 p.m.
