The Mavericks rolled to a 3-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over visiting Alaska Anchorage in front of 3,348 fans at Verizon Wireless Center.

After a scoreless first period in which the Mavericks outshot the Seawolves 13-4, the Mavericks got on the board first in the second period on a goal scored by sophomore forward Chase Grant, who took a centering pass from Josh Nelson and wristed a shot that went through a maze of defenders in front of the net and got by UAA goaltender Chris Kamal at 01:51. It became 2-0 lead at 7:26 when senior forward Eriah Hayes skated into the offensive zone and took a shot that deflected off a UAA defenseman past Kamal.
