What's Up?: The Minnesota State (4-0) continues its homestand Saturday afternoon as it entertains Concordia at 7 p.m. The Mavericks – who defeated Mount Marty, 92-63, last weekend – and Golden Bears will play in the league lidlifter for both squads.

Minnesota State History: The 2012-13 season marks the 91st campaign as a varsity sport for Minnesota State men’s basketball. The Mavericks are 1,189-841 (.586) in 2,030 games since the program’s inception in the 1920-21 season. MSU capped its 33rd and final season as a member of the NCC in 2008 and owned a 283-267 (.515) record in 550 league games played. In the NSIC, MSU owns a 56-28 record (.667) to go with a pair of regular-season championships.
The Mavericks have made seven appearances in the NCAA Tournament, going 12-9 (.571) in those trips.
A Little About Concordia: Concordia enters the weekend owners of a 1-2 record. CU opened its season with a 79-70 loss to Clarke and then an 80-76 loss at Western Washington before downing Alaska Fairbanks, 65-60 last Saturday.
On the season, the Golden Bears are allowing 73 points per game while scoring 70.3. They are shooting 41.3 percent from the floor, 41.2 percent from downtown and 65.4 percent from the free throw line. CU is being outrebounded by a 37.7-36.3 margin this year.
Sophomore guard Terez VanPelt leads the team in scoring averaging 20.3 points per game while senior forward Isaiah Thomas is averaging 14.7. Rounding out the players in double figures for CU is sophomore guard Cole Olstad (13.7 ppg) and senior forward Nick Mabbutt (10.0). Olstad is hauling in a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game.
Concordia is coached by Kelly Boe who is in his 114-84 in his seven year coaching career and 91-75 during his six years at CU.
