Box Score Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State volleyball team played its final home match of the season as it hosted Upper Iowa and won the match 3-0, by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-14 to improve to 17-8 on the season and 11-6 in the NSIC.

The first set was a see-saw battle, eventually coming to a 20-20 tie before the Maverick seniors put the set to rest as they came away with the 25-22 win, advancing to 1-0 in the match.
Minnesota State downed Upper Iowa in the second set by a score of 25-17, advancing to 2-0 in the set, led by senior
Jill Storlie who recorded 11 kills through the first two sets. The Mavericks hit .361 in the set, behind a 17 assist set by freshman
Ellie Van De Steeg.
The Mavericks came out after intermission and hit .308 in the third set to come away with the 25-14 win, picking up the 3-0 victory. Senior outside hitter
Courteney Steinhauser recorded four blocks in the set.
Minnesota State was led by its five seniors who were the only Mavericks to record kills led by Storlie and Steinhauser who had 12 kills each. Fogarty and Berning finished with 11 kills and 10 kills respectively and Dale added 9 kills in the winning effort.
The Mavericks will return to action as they travel to Winona, Minn. to do battle with the Warriors in a crucial NSIC match-up Saturday, first-serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
