Box Score Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State volleyball team returned to the hardwood Saturday as it hosted the Augustana Vikings. The Mavericks fell to the Vikings for the first time since 2008, 3-1 to fall to 12-5 on the season and 6-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC)
The Mavericks struggled offensively in the first set as they fell 25-21 behind a .171 hitting performance as a team. The senior tandem of outside hitter #

Jill Storlie# led Minnesota State in the set finishing with three kills each.
Minnesota State took its first lead of the second set behind a
Briel Hendericksen service ace to give the Mavericks a 12-11 lead. The set was tied at 18 before Storlie tallied two quick kills giving the Mavericks a 20-18 advantage, Minnesota State would go on to win the set 25-19.
The Vikings came out firing after intermission as they took an early 8-5 lead before senior outside hitter #
Courteney Steinhauser# and Fogarty led a six point charge for the Mavericks bringing the score the 12-11 in favor of the Vikings before Augustana went on a 6-2 run to take the 18-14 lead. The Vikings went on to win the set 25-18.
The fourth set saw the Mavericks down early 12-4, Minnesota State finished the set with a .410 side-out percentage. The Mavericks fell in the set 25-13, and lost the match 3-1 to fall to 12-5 on the season.
The Mavericks were led by Fogarty who recorded her second consecutive double-double finishing with 15 kills and 10 digs, Storlie was the only other Maverick to record double digit kills, she finished the match with 12 kills and three blocks. Senior libero #

Minnesota State will return to action as it travels to Bismark, N.D. to face off against the University of Mary next Friday, game-time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
