Box Score Sioux Falls, S.D. – The No. 14 Minnesota State volleyball team squared off against Augustana College, and had its efforts come up short as it fell in three sets by scores of 25-20, 26-24, and 25-18 to fall to 16-7 on the season and 10-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The first set was tied at 6-6 before the Vikings went on an 8-0 run, to stretch their lead to 14-6, forcing the Mavericks to use a timeout. Minnesota State was able to come within three points of Augustana, trailing 22-19 before the Vikings went on a 3-1 run to end the set.
The Mavericks came out firing in the second set and held a 20-13 lead before Augustana mounted its comeback, the Vikings battled back to a 24-24 tie, before going on to win the set, 26-24. Three of Minnesota State’s first five points of the set were scored by senior middle blocker #

Courteney Steinhauser# kill, but the Mavericks soon found themselves down 10-6, a deficit that they were unable to overcome as they fell in the third set by a score of 25-18, suffering the 3-0 loss to the Vikings.

Minnesota State will return to action Saturday, as it travels to Wayne, Neb. for a match-up against the No. 18 Wildcats, first serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
