9/27/2011 11:30:00 AM

What Lies Ahead: The No. 13 Minnesota State Mavericks (9-4, 2-3 NSIC) begin their four-match road stand this week as they hit the road for matches against Minnesota Crookston and MSU Moorhead. MSU will face Crookston at 7 p.m., Friday and Moorhead at 4 p.m., Saturday.

A Look Back: The Mavericks have lost three of their last four matches as they were defeated by top-ranked Concordia University and No. 4 Minnesota Duluth this past week. The lone Maverick victory during this stretch came against Bemidji State as the Mavericks downed the Beavers in four sets (25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-15). The Mavericks were led last week by junior outside hitter Chelsea Fogarty who recorded 41 kills (3.73 per set). Fogarty also tallied four assists, 29 digs and five total blocks. Senior setter Brittany Stamer once again led MSU in assists as she tallied 108 of the teams 126 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Jenna McNallan led the Mavericks in digs the last three matches with 39 (3.55 per set). Over the weekend, Stamer moved into second place on the all-time assists list passing Heidi Schnagl.

Climbing the Charts: Last year setter Stamer led the Mavericks with 1,191 assists as she became the fifth Maverick to join the MSU 3,000 assist club. Stamer has recorded 549 assists this year as she currently owns 3,984 career assists, remaining 384 away from the school’s all-time record. Jen Blendermann (1999-2002) currently owns the all-time assist record with 4,367. Stamer has averaged 1,145 assists per season throughout her first three years as she recently moved into second on the all-time list.
