What Lies Ahead: The No. 14 Minnesota State Mavericks will face their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference road test this week as they face No. 1 Concordia University on Tuesday. Following the match against the top-ranked Golden Bears, the Mavericks will return home to square off against Bemidji State Friday and No. 5 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday.
A Look Back: This past week the Mavericks went 1-1 in NSIC action as they defeated Winona State University, 3-1, before closing out the week with a 3-1 loss against No. 7 Southwest Minnesota State University. MSU was led during these two games by junior outside hitter
Chelsea Fogarty who recorded 35 kills on 89 attempts. Senior setter
Brittany Stamer recorded 85 of the team’s 102 assists while also leading the team with 35 digs. Junior middle blocker
Jill Storlie notched a team-high nine total blocks while also contributing 23 kills.
Amundson Moves Into Third: Head coach
Dennis Amundson moved into third place on the all-time MSU wins list on Sept. 3 against Dallas Baptist as he collected his 118th career victory. Amundson, currently at 122 wins, trails Georgene Brock by 22 wins, and Marge Burkett by 91 wins.
