The Mavericks look for their first WCHA win this weekend

MSU/BSU Square Off at All Seasons Arena

Mankato, Minn.---Minnesota State (4-6-0, 0-4-0 WCHA) hosts #10 Bemidji State (6-2-2, 3-2-1 WCHA) this weekend at All Seasons Arena for a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. Friday the puck is set to drop at 7:07 p.m. as game two is slated for 3:07 p.m. on Saturday.


Bemidji State Beaver Notes:

- The No. 10-ranked Beavers (6-2-2, 3-2-1-0 WCHA, 9 points) split two home games with Minnesota last weekend.

They picked up their fourth-ever victory over No. 2-ranked Minnesota on Saturday.

- Goaltender Zuzana Tomcikova made 87 saves against UM on the weekend, including 41 last Saturday to help BSU to the 2-1 victory.

-Tomcikova needs only one more win to tie the mark for most wins in program history set by Bre Dedrickson.

- Sadie Lundquist had two goals against the Golden Gophers, including the game-winner in last Saturday’s upset win ... Lundquist leads the BSU team in points this season with six goals and 10 assists - Lundquist’s power-play goal last Saturday is the 13th of the season for BSU, who ranks fourth in the nation for power-play with a 33.3% success rate so far this season.

- The Beavers are off to their best start ever with a 6-2-2 record.

- BSU is lead by Sadie Lundquist who has six goals and ten assists.

- The Beaver power-play is 13-for-40 for 32 percent this season. 

-Bemidji State has four players with at least ten points, Sadie Lundquist (6-10--16), Emily Erickson (6-9--15), Montana Vichorek (4-10--14) and Erika Wheelhouse (3-7--10).

MSU/BSU History:

- Minnesota State/Bemidji State all-time series is even at 20-20-10 in the 50 meetings.

- The Mavericks are 0-7-3 in the last ten meetings and 7-8-5 in the past 20 games. 

- The largest defeat in the all-time series was in 1999 when MSU deafeated BSU 12-0. 

- The longest streak is owned by the Beavers with seven games that lasted from 2000-2002  over the Mavericks. 

- Last season Bemidji State outscored Minnesota State 8-3.

- MSU’s Kathleen Rogan had two of the goals.

- BSU’s Lauren Williams led offense with a goal and two assists last season against MSU as ten different players collected points in the four games. 


Close, but No Cigar: MSU is 2-4-0 in one-goal games this season. Last season the Mavericks played in 12 games decided by one goal or less. In those games, MSU owned a 2-7-3 record.
