Box Score MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State Mavericks completed their perfect non-conference schedule Saturday night defeating the visiting UW-Eau Claire Blugolds, 59-50 at the Taylor Center.
The Mavericks (4-0 overall) were led in the victory by three players who reached double-digits. Junior forward
Ali Wilkinson paced MSU with 12 points and 13 rebounds earning her third double-double of the season. Freshman guard
Aubrey Davis scored all ten of her points on 4-of-5 shooting in the first half while junior guard
Jameila Hudnell totaled ten points on 5-of-10 shooting.
MSU outscored the Blugolds, 34-27 in the first half as Davis dialed up two of the Mavericks four three-pointers en route to her double-digit performance. The Mavericks connected on 14 of their 31 field goal attempts (45.2 percent) compared to just 8-of-25 (32.0 percent) by the Blugolds.
Wilkinson took control in the second half for the Mavericks totaling eight of her 12 points while grabbing nine of her 13 rebounds.
UW-Eau Claire came within five points of the Mavericks at the 3:38 mark with the score at 52-47. However, MSU would only allow a three pointer by Eau Claire’s Laura Olson as it ran out the clock on held onto the 59-50 victory.
The Mavericks totaled 13 assists in the game compared to five by Eau Claire as both Davis and Hudnell finished with four. MSU also committed one less turnover (14-13) while recording two more blocks (4-2) and three more steals (7-4).

MSU finished the game 25-of-65 (38.5 percent) from the floor compared to 16-of-53 (30.2 percent) by the Blugolds. The Mavericks also out rebounded Eau Claire, 43-34.
Minnesota State returns to action Friday, Dec. 2 when it travels to Wayne, Neb., for its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game against No. 9 Wayne State.
