What Lies Ahead:  The No. 20 Minnesota State Mavericks (15-8, 8-7 NSIC) are set to host three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchups this week including a tilt with Minnesota Crookston Tuesday before matches against Northern State Friday and U-Mary Saturday.  Tuesday and Friday’s matches begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s is at 4 p.m.

Last Week At A Glance: Just four days after being ranked seventh in the first NCAA Central Region Rankings, the No. 20 Minnesota State Mavericks dropped a match in three sets to the No. 9 Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs who debuted sixth in the regional rankings.  The Mavericks were led at the net by junior outside hitter Chelsea Fogarty and junior middle blocker Jill Storlie who contributed 13 and 10 kills, respectively.  Storlie killed 10 of her 19 attempts for a .421 hitting percentage.  Senior setter Brittany Stamer paced the Mavericks with 23 assists and tied with Fogarty for most digs with seven.  Stamer has recorded 1,007 assists this year which marks as her third consecutive year with more than 1,000.

Just Adding To Her Lead: Last year setter Brittany Stamer led the Mavericks with 1,191 assists as she became the fifth Maverick to join the MSU 3,000 assist club.  Stamer has recorded 1,007 assists this year as she recently joined the MSU 4,000 assist club which only one previous Maverick has accomplished.  It also marks the third consecutive year she has recorded more than 1,000 assists.  Stamer currently owns 4,442 career assists as she owns the school’s all-time record.  Stamer passed Jen Blendermann (1999-2002) on Oct. 22 when she recorded 56 assists in a win over Winona State.  Blendermann finished her Maverick career with 4,367 career assists.
