Box Score MANKATO, Minn. – The No. 20 Minnesota State Mavericks dropped their match against top-ranked Concordia University Friday night as the Golden Bears swept the Mavericks, 3-0.
 
Although the Mavericks gave Concordia a scare in both the first and second sets, the Golden Bears proved to be too strong as the defeated the Mavericks 20-25, 22-25 and 17-25.
 
The Mavericks were led by sophomore outside hitter Jenna McNallan who tallied nine kills, while junior outside hitter’s Kayla Berning and Chelsea Fogarty each finished with eight. Senior setter Brittany Stamer again led MSU in assists, earning 28.

Defensivly, senior defensive specialist Alli Rice finished with a team-best 14 digs, while Stamer contributed 13.  With her 14 digs, Rice is now third on the school’s all-time dig list as she passed Stef Sandstrom.

The Mavericks (11-7, 4-6 NSIC) return to action Saturday afternoon as they are set to face St. Cloud State.  The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m., in the Taylor Center.
