Colorado Springs, Colo. – With the temperature at 45 degrees and continuous rain, NCAA Central Region officials suspended the subregional game between second-seeded Minnesota State and third-seeded Winona State in the top of the fourth inning Friday afternoon with the game tied 2-2.
The game will be picked up where it was left off in the top of the fourth inning with Winona State with two outs and a 2-1 count.
Minnesota State opened up the game in the bottom of the second with one run, senior shortstop Libbie Reichling drilled a home run for the Mavericks, her eighth of the season.
The Mavericks tallied one more run as senior second baseman Abby Morris led off the bottom of the second with a home run to centerfield, her fifth of the season.
Winona State tied the game in the top of the fourth inning, hitting a home run to left field bringing one run in before a passed ball brought one more run in.
The two teams will resume the game Saturday at 11 a.m.
