MADISON, Wis. --- The Maverick women’s hockey team wrapped up their weekend tilt with the tenth-ranked Badgers Sunday morning and were defeated, 6-0.

In the first, Wisconsin opened up scoring with an unassisted power play goal scored by rookie defender Alev Kelter and increased their lead to 2-0 with an even strength goal scored by senior forward Jasmine Giles; freshman forward Brianna Decker and sophomore forward Brooke Ammerman with the helpers.

Senior forward Kyla Sanders tallied the Badgers third goal of the game at the 10:26 mark when the teams were skating four-on-four. Ammerman tallied their fourth scored of the contest 12:48 into the second.

The Badgers scored fifth goal of the contest scored by forward Breann Frykas to start the scoring in the third and Giles wrapped up the scoring with the Badgers sixth goal of the game at the 11:38 mark.

Wisconsin outshot the Mavericks 38 to 14. Sophomore Alli Altmann earned 20 saves in the contest, while junior Paige Thunder tallied 12.

The Mavericks (6-19-5, 4-17-5-3 WCHA) will finish up regular season play, February 19 and 20 when they play host to the University of North Dakota at All Seasons Arena.
