Mankato, Minn. --- The Sixteenth-Rated Mavericks downed the Augustana Vikings, 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Taylor Center.
After last evening’s victory over the first-ranked Wayne State Wildcats, the Mavericks looked sharp in their 3-0 win over ther Vikings, taking all three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-20.
Senior outside hitter Amanda Beekman led the Maverick in scoring, racking up 15 kills on 28 attempts, giving her a team-best .464 hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Fogarty and sophomore right-side hitter Megan Ysker each added nine kills. Setting up her teammates was junior setter Brittany Stamer who finished the match with 42 assists.
Protecting the net was senior middle blocker Amanda Thompson who finished with a team-high 4 blocks, while sophomore defensive specialist Sam Dale dug 13 balls, a team-best.
The Mavericks (13-4 overall, 5-4 NSIC) will travel to St. Paul, Minn. to take on Concordia next Friday at 7:00 p.m.
