Ohio State Downs Mavericks at All Seasons Arena 6-0

Box Score Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State University played host to Ohio State University Friday night at All Seasons Arena and were defeated, 6-0.

The Buckeyes opened scoring with two first period goals. The first coming from Minttu Tuominen assisted by Paige Semenza and Liz Rizzo. Buckeyes Christina Mancuso and Rachel Davis set up Tuominen to give OSU the 2-0 lead.

Ohio State continued their scoring streak as they took advantage of a power play opportunity early in the second period as sophomore Natalie Spooner found the back of the net. Laura McIntosh and Hokey Langan assisted Spooner on the play.

Tuominen, Semanza, and Mancuso all recorded second period goals to wrap up the scoring for the evening, giving OSU a 6-0 win.

Minnesota State out shot Ohio State 26-21 in the contest. The Mavericks finished 0-3 on power play opportunities while the Buckeyes ended the contest 1-7 with the extra skater.

MSU is now sporting a 4-12-5 record overall and 2-10-5-3 in WCHA action. The two teams will face off again tomorrow at All Seasons Arena in Mankato with the puck dropping at 3:07 p.m.
