Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Mavericks played host to the Bemidji State Beavers Friday night and improved their record to 23-4 overall and 13-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. MSU defeated the Beavers by scores of 30-28, 27-25 and 25-20.

Amanda Beekman (Marshall, Minn.) earned her 1,000th career kill with her second kill of the evening in the second set. Leading the Maverick attack was freshman outside hitter
Chelsea Fogarty (Bell Plaine, Minn.) and junior middle blocker
Kimber Kuhl (Chaska, Minn.) earning 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Kuhl finished the evening with an impressive, season-best, .765 hitting percentage. Sophomore setter
Brittany Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) finished with match high 43 assists, increasing her season total to 1,148.
Defensively, sophomore defensive specialist
Alli Rice (Owatonna, Minn.), freshman defensive specialist
Samantha Dale (Alexandria, Minn.) and Stamer each finished with a team best eight digs. Junior middle blocker
Amanda Thompson (Stewartville, Minn.) continued to protect the net with her four blocks.
The Maverick volleyball team will continue action tomorrow night, facing the #11 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs at Taylor Center. The Match will begin at 4:00 p.m.
