Anderson joined the Minnesota State coaching staff in 2024-25 after four years of collegiate wrestling between 2019-24. Anderson spent his first three seasons competing at South Dakota State University, where he was a two-year starter and a two-time Big 12 Academic All-American at 133 pounds.
Anderson joined the Minnesota State wrestling team for his final collegiate year of competition and he compiled a record of 28-9 with 11 victories by fall and six by tech fall at 141 pounds. Anderson ended his career ranked No. 16 in the country.
In his first season of coaching, he helped the Mavericks finish 8-5 overall in duals with two individual All-Americans.
A native of Farmington, Minnesota, Anderson was a four-time state place winner, including two state finals appearances and a state championship in 2019 finishing that season with a 54-1 record.
Anderson went 159-23 in high school meets and competed heavily on the national level, which included being a four-time Minnesota junior duals national team member and an All-American sixth place finish at Cadet Nationals in 2017.
Anderson obtained his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University in 2024.
