Mitchell Collicott joined the Maverick football coaching staff as the team’s defensive line coach in May 2025.
Collicott joined the UW-La Crosse coaching staff in 2022 as the defensive line coach & strength and conditioning coordinator where he coached multiple WIAC All-Conference honorees and an All-Region First Team selection. In 2023 & 2024 he also served as the team's co-defensive coordinator. During the 2023 season, UWL allowed just 23.2 points per game as the Eagles allowed 338.7 yards of offense per game. That season he also coached multiple WIAC All-Conference honorees and an All-Region First Team selection.
In 2024, UWL led the WIAC in sacks and fumbles recovered. The Eagles also finished in the top-four in scoring defense, yards allowed, rushing yards allowed and passing yards allowed as they advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to joining UW-La Crosse, Collicott served as the defensive line coach at Chadron State for four seasons (2018-21). He coached two AII-RMAC honorable mentions during the 2021 season as Chadron State finished in the top half of the conference in scoring and rushing defense.
A native of McCook, Nebraska, Collicott earned his undergraduate (2019) and graduate (2021) degrees from Chadron State College. He was named a team captain during the 2017 season and earned AII-RMAC Second Team accolades as he played in all 11 games while registering 45 tackles. He earned an RMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2016 after recording 54 tackles. He was also named to the Omaha World-Herald Division II Midlands Team in 2016 and 2017.
