Minnesota State University - Mankato Athletics

Dan Rickbeil has served as the Head Athletic Equipment Manager at MSU since November 2006 and was elevated to Director of Athletic Equipment Operations in August 2025. He is an active member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) and has been a Certified Athletic Equipment Manager since 2013. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, Dan received the 2024 AEMA District V Tony Anderson Award.

In addition to his campus role, Dan is currently serving his 11th year as Program Chair for the AEMA. He is also a nationally registered EMT and works part-time with Mayo Clinic Ambulance. Outside of athletics, Dan contributed to the “ice crew” for Hockey Day Minnesota in both 2022 (Mankato) and 2025 (Shakopee).

Dan and his wife, Angela, live in Mankato with their children Elli, Claira, and Kian. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is passionate about waterskiing, downhill skiing and hiking in Montana, and playing hockey.
