Chad Brinkman

Chad Brinkman joined the Minnesota State athletic training staff in 2013 and is now serves as an assistant athletic trainer. His primary focus is with the football  team.

A native of Princeton, Minn., Brinkman first joined the Maverick athletic training staff in the fall of 2013 where he served as the athletic trainer to the men's hockey team that went on to win the WCHA regular season championship and WCHA Final Five Championship. 

Following his stint with the men's hockey team, Brinkman transitioned into his role as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Minnesota State football team for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. In 2014, the Mavericks team advanced to the NCAA Championship game for the first time in program history.

After wrapping up his masters degree in sport management in the spring of 2016, Brinkman transitioned into a full-time position as an assistant athletic trainer and has served as the football and swimming and diving trainer since the fall of 2016. Prior to receiving his master's degree in sport management, Brinkman received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Minnesota State in the spring of 2012.

Before to returning to Minnesota State in 2013, Brinkman participated in a one-year internship at Adrian College where served as an athletic trainer for men's soccer, women's hockey and baseball. 

Since May of 2016, Brinkman has worked as the lead Athletic Trainer for the Maverick football and women's tennis teams.  Brinkman has been a member of the several national organizations, including the National Athletic Trainers' Association (2011-present), Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association (2011-present) and the Minnesota Athletic Trainers' Association (2011-present).  

Brinkman resides in Mankato with his wife Samantha and his daughters,  Payton, Brooke & Audrey.
