Biography

St. Cloud State: A sophomore from Austin, Minn., Sam Winkels went 16-6 in his freshman season at St. Cloud State.

High School: At Austin High School, he posted a 141-14 record and was a three-time section champion. He qualified for the state tournament three times and placed twice (4th and 2nd).

Personal: Sam is the son of Mark and Dayna Winkels and is majoring in construction management.
