2021: Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Named to the All-NSIC Second Team…Played and started in all 50 games for the Mavericks, primarily in center field…Batted .329 with 54 hits and 22 RBI…Tied for the team lead in runs scored with 40…Also notched 10 doubles and 19 walks…Finished second on the team in stolen bases with 13…Has 16 multi-hit games…Scored a season-high four runs against Winona State…Finished her career at Minnesota State tied for sixth in batting average (.372), third in RBI (157). third in walks (86), seventh in at bats (698), fifth in hits (260), third in runs scored (176), fifth in doubles (44), tied for second in triples (13), seventh in games played (229), fourth in total bases (378) and fourth in stolen bases (79).

2020: Played and started in all 20 games for the Mavericks, including primarily in left field…Led the team in several offensive categories including batting average (.474), runs scored (23), hits (36), doubles (8), home runs (6) and RBI (24)…Was named the NSIC Player of the Week twice…Recorded at least two hits in 12 games, including four hits against Emporia State…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Had at least one hit in 18 of MSU’s 20 games…Drove in a season-high four RBI in back-to-back games against Lock Haven and Pitt-Johnstown…Claimed CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team honors, becoming the sixth Maverick overall to receive CoSIDA Academic All-American honors.

2019: Played in 34 games, while making 32 starts in right field…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team/Team of Excellence…Batted .286 with 10 doubles and three home runs…Stole seven bases in nine attempts…Tallied at least two hits in nine games, including a season-best three hits against the University of Mary…Drove in a season-high four RBI against Southern Indiana.

2018: Started in all of MSU’s 54 games in right field…Led the Maverick offense in several categories including batting average (.438), triples (8), walks (29) and stolen bases (24)…Boasted a 1.000 fielding percentage…Named to the All-NSIC First Team and the NSIC Gold Glove Team…Received CoSIDA Academic All-District and NSIC All-Academic Team honors…Posted at least two hits in 24 games, including a season-best four hits against Nebraska-Kearney and Missouri Southern State…Earned NFCA All-Central Region First Team honors and D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team accolades…Scored 47 runs and recorded 74 hits, including nine doubles and four home runs.

2017: Started in all 71 games in the outfield…Batted .356 as she recorded 68 hits, including seven doubles, three triples and two home runs…Scored 45 runs and drove in 34…Finished third on the team with 29 stolen bases…Named to the All-NSIC Second Team…Recorded at least two hits in 19 games, including a season-high three hits against Arkansas Tech, Wilmington, Harding and Armstrong State…Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team after batting .500 with eight hits and five RBI at the NCAA Championships…Finished second at the NCAA Championships in hits with eight.

High School: A centerfielder from Farmington, Minn., Esselman was a four-year starter and letterwinner for the Farmington High School softball team…Named to the National Honor Society…Received all-conference and all-section honors in all four of her seasons…Earned a pair of All-State Second Team honors, before receiving an All-State First Team honor as a senior…Named the team’s MVP three times…Advanced to the state tournament twice and the section finals twice…Named the Pioneer Press Player of the Year and to the Star Tribune’s All-Metro First Team.
