Sammie Hildreth

Sammie Hildreth enters her second year as a graduate assistant for the Mavericks. Hildreth graduated from Iowa State University in 2016 with a degree in Liberal Studies. At Iowa State, Hildreth saw action behind the plate making 95 career starts in her two years and caught 28 baserunners stealing. Hildreth was an Academic All-Big 12 First Team member in 2016. 

Prior to Iowa State University Hildreth caught and played infield for the Tritons of Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Hildreth was NJCAA First Team all region in 2013 and 2014 as well as an Academic All-American in 2014. 

In 2015 Hildreth began coaching for Boone High School in Boone, Iowa as an assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach. In her first season Hildreth helped the Toreadors cumulate a 26-13 record. In her second season Hildreth helped guide the 2016 Toreadors to their first state tournament trip since 2000 where they earned a 4th place finish and ended the season 27-11. 

In 2017, Hildreth helped the Mavericks to their first ever NCAA National Championship as Minnesota State set program records including 71 games played, 64 wins, 28 consecutive wins, 438 runs scored, 658 hits and 376 runs batted in. The Mavericks also claimed NSIC regular season and tournament championships.

Hildreth, along with head coach Lori Meyer and Associate Head Coach Kristle Wolcott, were named the NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year for their efforts. 
 

Hildreth is pursing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
