Andy Stocks completed his first season as Director of Sports Performance/Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2023-24. 
 
Stocks joined the Mavericks from Augustana University, where he served as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach since from 2015-23.
 
In his role, Stocks develops, implements, and leads sport-specific programs that facilitate maximum benefits for all student-athletes to optimize performance and decrease injury potential for MSU's 20 NCAA Division I and Division II athletic programs.
 
While in Sioux Falls, Stocks oversaw strength and conditioning for softball, volleyball, soccer, track and field, and women's basketball. He also assisted with all aspects of Viking football strength and conditioning and designed and procured equipment for a brand new 7,000 square foot training facility.
 
Prior to Augustana, Stocks spent time as a Sports Performance Coach at Acceleration Sports Institute in Greenville, South Carolina, designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for National level karate athletes as well as high school baseball players.
 
Stocks has held multiple strength and conditioning internships, with stops at both United State Olympic Training Centers in Lake Placid, New York, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Other internships included University of Missouri (Columbia, Missouri), University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan), University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (La Crosse, Wisconsin), and West Bend West High School (West Bend, Wisconsin).
 
From 2011-13, Stocks was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at South Dakota State University, where he oversaw programs for wrestling, swim and dive, tennis, and golf.
 
He holds a Master of Science degree from South Dakota State University in Nutrition, Exercise, and Food Sciences (2015), and a Bachelor of Science from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in Exercise and Sport Science (2010).
 
As an athlete, Stocks competed in 26 weightlifting meets (2009-16), 10 powerlifting meets (2015-present), and was the 2012 weightlifting Minnesota State champion.
 
He is a member of the South Dakota NSCA Advisory Board and was named 2021 Assistant College Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year.
