As a Maverick:  Lettered in 2008-09.

2008-09:  Saw action in 22 games in debut season and registered 2-2--4...Named WCHA Rookie of the Week following MSU’s games at Colorado College Nov. 14-15...Scored MSU’s second goal at 13:59 of the third period to lift MSU to a 2-1 win over the Tigers. The goal, which came with the Mavericks on the power play, was not only his first career goal, it was also his first career PPG and his first career GWG and he was amed the game’s First Star. He then was credited with an assist on an even-strength goal by Rylan Galiardi in a 4-3 loss to CC Saturday...Also had 24 PIMS to rank 13th on the team.

THE THOMPSON FILE:  Apprenticed at Cedar Rapids of the United State Hockey League for two years. ...Had 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in 55 games with the Roughriders in 2007-08 and contributed 8-9--17 in 37 games in 2006-07...Selected for USHL All-Star game in 2007-08 and scored a goal in 6-5 win...Played two years at Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School prior to joining Cedar Rapids and had 29-29--58 in 27 games as a junior and 3-8--11 in 27 games as a sophomore...Assistant captain in 2005-07 with BSM and named to all-conference team.
