Biography
As a Maverick: Three-time letterwinner at Minnesota State (2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15)...Selected in fourth round (106th overall) by the New York Islanders in 2013 National Hockey League Draft...Completes Minnesota State career with a 51-24-5 mark, 2.01 goals against average, .917 save percentage and ten career shut-outs. He stands third all-time at Minnesota State in wins, first in goals against average, first in save percentage and first in shut-outs.
2014-15: Selected to All-WCHA Second Team and was named WCHA Goaltending Champion... Selected to 2014-15 WCHA All-Academic Team... 25-6-3 record with .925 save percentage and a 1.65 goals against average mark for season...Named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week following two wins at #1-rated Michigan Tech (stopped 55 of 58 shots Nov. 21-22) and named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time after sweeping Lake Superior State (two shutouts stopping 45 of 45 shots) (Nov. 28-29)... One of 28 nominees for Mike Richter Award Nominee for the nation's top goaltender...Signed deal with NY Islanders on an entry-level contract at conclusion of season.
2013-14: Went 5-6-0 for 2013-14 with a 3.23 GAA and .862 sv%... Was a 2013-14 WCHA All-Academic honoree...Had 10 saves in 4-0 shut-out over Alabama-Huntsville Feb. 15.
2012-13: WCHA Rookie of the Year. All-WCHA First Team. WCHA All-Rookie Team. WCHA Goaltending Champion....Went 21-12-2 overall (12th in the country in winning percentage - .667) with a 2.00 goals against average (sixth in the country) and a .924 save percentage (13th in the country). In WCHA games, he finished the WCHA regular season leading league in goals against average (1.93), ranking second in save percentage (.927) and third in wins (15)...Two-time WCHA Rookie of the Week...Four shut-outs stands tied for second on MSU's single-season list...Established Minnesota State season record with 2.00 goals against average...Career-high 37 saves in 2-1 win at Minnesota (Jan. 25) and 6-1 win vs. Michigan Tech (Feb. 16).
THE WILLIAMS FILE: Two-year veteran of the United States Hockey League...Split the 2011-12 season between Sioux Falls and Waterloo and had combined 16-15-4 won-loss record with 2.74 goals against average and .905 save percentage...Helped lead Waterloo to a runner-up finish in the Clark Cup finals...Posted a 10-5-1 mark with a 2.28 GAA and .922 sv% for the Blackhawks during the 2011-12 postseason...Twice was named USHL Goaltender of the Week during the course of the 2011-12 season (both with Sioux Falls) ...Went 20-7-6 with a 2.59 goals against average and .909 saves percentage with Sioux Falls in 2010-11.
