Minnesota State University - Mankato Athletics

Nelson joined the Maverick athletic department as a graduate assistant in 2018 and has been a full-time member of the strength and conditioning staff since August of 2020.

A 2017 graduate of Northwestern College (Iowa), Nelson owns a Master’s degree in Sport Management from Minnesota State (May 2020). 

While at Minnesota State, Nelson has worked with the Maverick football, softball and soccer programs as well as the men’s and women’s basketball programs and wrestling team. 

Currently, Nelson oversees the strength and conditioning programs for Minnesota State’s men’s and women’s hockey programs.

Nelson is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Performance Coach.
