Biography

As a Maverick:   Served as an alternate team captain as a senior..Four-time letterwinner (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17).

2016-17:  WCHA All-Academic honoree...WCHA Scholar-Athlete honoree (at least 3.50 grade point average)...Tallied 5-11--16  and played in all 39 games in 2016-17...Had a goal and two assists in 3-0 WCHA play-off win over Alaska (March 3, 2017)...Completed career with 13-41--54 in 140 career games played, 176 shots on goal, 138 blocked shots and a +23 rating in his four seasons with the Mavericks.

2015-16: WCHA All-Academic honoree...WCHA Scholar-Athlete honoree (at least 3.50 grade point average)...Had 2-9--11 in 35 games in junior season...Tallied power play marker in 5-2 home WCHA victory over Alaska (Oct. 30)...Registered 42 shots on goal and 26 blocked shots.

2014-15:  Registered 0-12--12 in sophomore season...12 assists ranked eighth on team...Recorded 42 shots on goal, was +9 and blocked 20 shots...Collected career-high three assists in 7-0 win at Lake Superior State Nov. 28...2014-15 WCHA All-Academic honoree...WCHA Scholar-Athlete honoree (at least 3.50 grade point average).

2013-14:  Selected to 2013-14 WCHA All-Rookie Team...Had 3-6--9 in last 16 games of season and finished year tied for third on team at +10...  Scored six goals which tied for third in the nation amongst all rookie defensemen...Three game-winners led all first-year blue liners in the nation... Had 6-9--15 on season, played in 33 games for MSU...Ranked second on team with three game-winning goals...  Garnered WCHA Rookie of the Week recognition following Minnesota State’s home sweep over Bemidji State (Feb. 7-8).

THE FLANAGAN FILE: Spent a year and a half (2010-11 and 2011-12) and served as alternate captain with Salmon Arm (British Columbia Hockey League) before getting traded to Penticton (totalled 6-12--18 in 55 games with the two teams in 2011-12)...  Named Salmon Arm’s Best Defenseman for 2011-2012 (8-23--31 in 60 GP)......Selected for Canada West U19 team that played in the 2010 World Junior A Challenge Tournament held in Penticton, B.C. (team finished fourth and he had 0-0--0 in five games played).

PERSONAL:   Son of Jamie and Sherri Flanagan...Born May 18, 1992 in Kindersley, Sask. ...Majoring in finance.
