Biography

As a Maverick:  Four-time letterwinner (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23)...Has 43-33--76 in 128 games played in four seasons of college hockey.

2022-23: CCHA All-Academic Team... CCHA Scholar Athlete... 14-15--29 in 38 games played as a senior for the Mavericks... Tied for third on team in points, goals, and assists...Second on the team with seven power play goals...Tied for team lead with three game-winning goals...Finished with a +3 rating with 15 blocked shots... Marked season-high eight shots on goal against Minnesota (Oct. 10), where he also recorded a pair of goals... Had seven multi-point games...

2021-22:  21-13--34 in 42 games played in junior season...Led Minnesota State in goals (21) and tied for seventh in the nation (21 goals is a career-high)...Had 2-1--3 in 9-0 win over St. Thomas (Nov. 18)...Scored twice in 5-3 win over Arizona State (Jan, 29).

2020-21: Named NCAA West Region MVP after scoring GWG in overtime in 4-3 win over Quinnipiac (March 27) and adding a goal and an assist in 4-0 victory over Minnesota in Regional championship game (march 28)...Earned NCAA West Regional All-Tournament Team honors...Registered 7-2--9 in 27 games played on the season...Scored game-winning goal in 5-1 home win over Bowling Green (Feb. 6)...2020-21 WCHA All-Academic.

2019-20:  Saw action in 22 games in first year of college hockey...Registered 1-3--4, 29 shots on goal, was +4 with four blocked shots...Registered first career goal when he scored on the power play in 5-0 home nonconference win over Arizona State Oct. 11.

THE SANDELIN FILE: Played two season with Penticton of British Columbia Hockey League where he served as an alternate captain in 2018-19...Registered 31 goals and 20 assists for 51 points in 51 games in 2018-19...Helped lead Hermantown (Minn.) High School to two straight Minnesota State High School League Class A titles and was a finalist for Minnesota's Mr. Hockey Award after posting 36 goals and 43 assists in 31 games in 2016-17...Son of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey coach Scott Sandelin.
