Biography
As a Maverick: Four-year letterwinner (2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16)...Registered 38 goals and 28 assists for 66 points in 143 games in four seasons at Minnesota State...Three-time WCHA Scholar Athlete and three-time WCHA All-Academic.
2015-16: Selected as WCHA Scholar Athlete and named to 2015-16 All-Academic Team...Registered 6-6--12 in 30 games as a senior...Had a goal and two assists for three points in 6-1 win over Bemidji State (March 4)...Scored game-winning goal in 3-1 victory vs. Northern Michigan (Jan. 9).
2014-15: Selected as WCHA Scholar Athlete and named to 2014-15 All-Academic Team... Named team's Hardest Worker...Scored 14 goals to rank third on team and tied for second on Mavericks in game-winning goals with four... Scored two power-play goals in completing first career hat trick against Alaska Fairbanks on Dec. 6 in a 5-2 victory...Led Minnesota State in shooting percentage with .237% mark (14 goals on 59 shots).
2013-14: Had 3-1--4 in last nine games of season...Posted 8-9--17 numbers in 40 games played... Registered 85 shots on goal and was +2 in 2013-14...Finished year with one power play goal and had game-winning goals over UConn (Oct. 18) and Michigan Tech (March 7)... Mavericks were 12-2-0 when he registered a point in 2013-14...2013-14 WCHA All-Academic honoree...WCHA Scholar-Athlete honoree (at least 3.50 grade point average).
2012-13: Had 10-9--19 to tie for seventh on the team scoring charts...Had 5-2--7 in his last 12 games played...MSU went 13-3-0 mark in games in which he registered at least one point...Scored first career goal Oct. 20 in 4-2 win over RPI...Had goal and assist in 4-2 win at Wisconsin Nov. 23rd...Two-time WCHA Rookie of the Week award recipient (vs. Minnesota, Nov. 2-3 & vs. Michigan Tech, Feb. 15-16).
THE MARGONARI FILE: Spent three seasons with Youngstown (USHL) where he served as team captain in 2011-12...Had 19-11--41 in 51 games in 2011-12 with the Phantoms...Was named USHL Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 24-30 after scoring four times in two games., Had a hat trick and was +4 in 5-2 win at Omaha Oct. 29...Product of Pittsburgh Hornets midget AAA program.
