Biography

As a Maverick: Served as team captain as a junior in 2016-17 and senior in 2017-18...157 career games, played in 127 consecutive games to finish career...Four-year letterwinner (2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18)...Finished with 57 goals and 70 assists for 127 career points to tie for fifth on Minnesota State's career scoring list (NCAA DI-era).
 
2017-18: 2017-18 WCHA Player of the Year, 2017-18 WCHA Offensive Player of the Year, 2017-18 All-WCHA First Team selection...2017-18 AHCA/CCM West First Team All-America...Top Ten Finalist for Hobey Baker Award...2017-18 WCHA All-Academic selection...22-21--43 on the season (t-18th nationally) and ranked third in the nation with 521 face-off wins, tied for 12th nationally in goals (22) and tied for 19th in plus/minus with a +18 rating...Named WCHA Player of the Month for December - 6-4--10 in six GP.  Tallied a point in all six December games and logged three multi-point games, helping the Mavericks go 5-1-0. Scored twice, including the game-winning goal, in a 5-1 win over Alabama Huntsville on Dec. 15, tallied another two goals the next night in a sweep-clinching victory over the Chargers, and had a three-point effort (2g-1a) in a 6-3 triumph over Northern Michigan on Dec. 30.

2016-17:  2016-17 All-WCHA Second Team selection...Tied for second on team in scoring and fourth in goals with 12-19--31 as a junior...Led Mavericks with seven power play goals and ranked second on team with four game-winners...Led Minnesota State with 391 face-off wins...Scored twice and assisted on another and was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week after 5-3 win over Bowling Green Jan. 14.

2015-16:  Finished third on the season in scoring and second in goals with 14-11--25 in sophomore season...Saw action in all 41 games...Led Mavericks with six power play goals and ranked second on team in shooting percentage (.136, 14 goals on 103 shots)...Named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week after registering three goals and two assist in home WCHA sweep over Lake Superior State (Jan. 22-23). Had a goal and two assists in 8-0 win in the first game vs. the Lakers, then scored twice the next night in a 5-1 victory...Had a goal and an assist over Minnesota in North Star Cup game Jan. 30. 

2014-15:  Selected to 2014-15 WCHA All-Rookie Team... Registered 9-19--28 which tied for sixth on team scoring chart... Ranked third on team for plus/minus with +17... Tallied power play goal in NCAA DI Midwest Regional game vs. RIT (March 29, 2015)...Recorded three assists in 5-2 win at Bowling Green (Oct. 31, 2014)...Registered game-winning goal and was +3 in 4-2 victory over Minnesota at North Star College Cup (Jan. 23, 2015)...Had goal and assist in 5-2 win vs. Lake Superior State (Jan. 9, 2015).

The Franklin File: Selected in fifth round, 129th overall, by Winnipeg in 2014 National Hockey League Draft...Served as alternate captain of Team USA that won gold medal in the World Junior A Challenge (2013)...Alternate captain with Sioux Falls United States Hockey League in 2013-2014 where he tallied 22-29-51 in 53 games played...Registered 32-28--60 in first season with Sioux Falls in 2012-13...Played high school hockey for Forest Lake which was coached by former Minnesota State defenseman Aaron Forsythe.
