2017-18: Team captain as a senior...Ranked fourth on the Mavericks with 76.4 average...Saw action in 11 tournaments and played in 28 rounds as a senior...Tied for ninth at NSIC Tournament in helping lead Minnesota State to a fourth consecutive league championship...Tied for 28th at NCAA DII Central/Midwest Regional.

2016-17:  2016-17 All-NSIC First Team selection led Minnesota State with a 74.3 average...Finished fifth at the 2016-17 NSIC Championship (74-76-71--221) and tied for 46th at the NCAA DII Midwest/Central Regional (68-74-72--214)...Placed fifth at the Beaver-Jacket Invitational (73-74-74--221)...Named NSIC Men's Golfer of the Week after he fired rounds of 69, 71 and 72 and his 212 total, which was the top performance turned in by any golfer from a NSIC-member team at the tournament, placed him in a tie for tenth at the Northeastern (Okla.) State Golf Classic.

2015-16: Named 2015-16 NSIC Men's Golfer of the Year and All-NSIC First Team...Led the Mavericks with a 75.2 mark over the course of 25 rounds in sophomore season...Named NSIC Men's Golfer of the Week three times during the course of the season...Shot a personal low round of 69 three times during the season (first round of J.R. Watkins Invitational and in the first and fourth rounds of the NSIC Championship tournament)...Won NSIC individual championship (69-75-75-69--288) in helping the Mavericks capture the 2015-16 NSIC Men's Golf Championship...Tied for 14th at the NCAA DII Midwest/Central Regional (74-75-77--226)...Team captain.

2014-15: Averaged 74.8 in 25 rounds in first season of college golf at Minnesota State...Placed ninth at 2014-15 NSIC Championship (76-73-73-77--299) and was named All-NSIC Second Team...Tied for 12th at NCAA DII Midwest /Central Regional (73-73-76--222)...Tied for first at Minot State/Minnesota Crookston Invitational (72-78--140) and as a result, was named NSIC Men's Golfer of the Week.

Personal:  Son of Kim and Tom Schmitz... Majoring in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services... New Ulm High School product earned a seventh-place finish at the Minnesota Class AA state boy's golf meet as a senior in 2014.
