High School: Friesen was a two-year starter and letterwinner at Mankato West, helping the Scarlets play to a 21-2 record, including a 16-0 mark in the Big Nine Conference where they were crowned league champs twice...As a senior he caught 63 passes for 1,100 yards and 21 touchdowns and he finished the year with 26 scores...Was an all-city, all-conference and all-state selection...As a junior he finished with 50 catches for 750 yards and eight touchdowns and also hauled in a school-record 11 interceptions as West was crowned the Minnesota State Class AAAAA State Championship...Was an all-city and all-conferenece performer as a junior and was a second-team all-state selection as a cornerback.
