Ron Planz

Ron Planz enters his fifth season as an assistant football coach with the Maverick football team and will oversee the defensive line.  Planz also serves as the team’s Special Teams Coordinator and is the team’s Academic Coordinator. His recruiting area consists of Southeastern Wisconsin, and Lake County, Du Page County and the North/Northwest Suburbs of Cook County in Illinois.

During his time at MSU, Planz has seen five Maverick defensive linemen who earned All-NSIC South Division recognition, including current New York Jet, Junior Aumavae, who was named the league’s Newcomer of the Year, in 2009.  In 2011 and 2012, senior defensive end Chris Schaudt earned First Team All-NSIC South Division honors.
          
Planz came to MSU from Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind., where he has served as the school’s defensive coordinator and head strength and conditioning coach since 2004. Prior to his time at Manchester, Planz was a secondary coach at UW-Eau Claire. Planz played collegiately at Carthage College from 1997-2001.  Planz and his wife, Julia, are parents of a daughter, Lillian and a son, Lucas.  The Planz family resides in Eagle Lake.
